Ierarhizarea domeniilor de studiu deschide calea competitiei o spune chiar rectorul Universitatii oradene, Cornel Antal. Institutia din municipiul de pe Crisul Repede are doua domenii de categoria A, sapte de categoria B, 25 de categoria C, 8 de categoria D si patru de categoria E. Ierarhizarea trebuie insa gandita doar in comparatie cu alte universitati iar o comparatie intre domeniile institutiei oradene privind locul in clasament este incorecta.

Asta pentru ca la fiecare domeniu s-au aplicat criterii diferite de incadrare. Cornel Antal spune ca ierarhizarea domeniilor se va face anual, iar pozitia va conta la finantarea lor, ceea ce inseamna in fapt o competitie.
